Visitor Update
Although the historic Windmill is currently closed to visitors, important conservation and restoration work is continuing behind the scenes to safeguard its long‑term future. This much‑loved heritage site in Hampshire is being cared for by Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust, which is leading efforts to protect, improve and ultimately reopen the Windmill for public enjoyment.

The trustees are actively seeking funding to ensure the Windmill can thrive as a sustainable visitor site for years to come. Plans under consideration include reopening the Windmill for guided visitor tours, as well as making the site available for weddings, private hire and special events, helping to generate vital income to support ongoing preservation.

In the meantime, the Windmill grounds and historic buildings are being kept in excellent condition thanks to a small but dedicated team of volunteers. They regularly maintain the gardens, monitor site security and carry out essential routine upkeep, ensuring the Windmill remains welcoming and well cared for.

As progress continues towards reopening, new volunteering opportunities will become available, offering local people the chance to play a hands‑on role in supporting this unique historic landmark. Occasional help is always appreciated, and anyone with an interest in heritage, gardening or community projects is encouraged to get involved.
